What I use,
unredacted.
The full inventory of hardware, software, and habits I lean on every day to do my job. Inspired by uses.tech. No sponsorships, no affiliate links · if I list it, it's because I actually pay for it.
Desk & hardware
The physical setup. Boring on purpose · I optimize for time at the keyboard, not aesthetics.
MacBook Pro 14" · M-series
Daily driver. Runs everything, sleeps perfectly, never thermal-throttles on Cursor + Chrome + Figma stacks.
External 4K monitor
One monitor, dead-center. Two monitors trained me to context-switch instead of focus.
Mechanical keyboard · low-profile
Low-profile because I type 8 hours a day and wrist health is a real budget item.
Wired headphones
Wireless dies during the meeting I needed it most. Twice.
Standing desk
Not for the health reasons. Because reading long-form is easier standing.
AI & reasoning
The team. See /#ai-stack for the actual workflows these run inside.
Claude (Pro + API)
First chair for strategy, writing, copy critique. Sonnet for speed, Opus for hard problems.
ChatGPT (Plus)
Second chair. Better at quantitative reasoning + tool use in some workflows.
Cursor
How I ship landing pages and internal tools. Sonnet inside, agent mode on.
Perplexity
First stop for time-sensitive research. Then back to Claude with the citations.
Midjourney + Runway
Image and motion variation for paid social. ~40 net-new ad concepts/week pass through here.
Marketing stack
The tools that move the numbers.
HubSpot
Source of truth for the CRM side of the funnel. Boring choice. Correct choice.
Segment
Event pipeline. Routes everything to where it needs to go without me thinking about it.
Customer.io
Lifecycle and onboarding. Triggered by Segment events, decided by Claude prompts.
n8n (self-hosted)
The glue. Self-hosted because I like the receipts to live on infra I control.
Apify
SERP + competitor scraping. Feeds the AEO and creative-research workflows.
PostHog
Product analytics, session recordings. Pairs with HubSpot to close the funnel loop.
Writing & thinking
Where the words actually happen.
Obsidian
My second brain. Atomic notes, daily reviews, link-everything mode.
iA Writer
First draft of every essay. Distraction-free or it doesn't get written.
Notion
Public-facing docs, project briefs, things other humans need to read.
Substack (or Beehiiv)
Newsletter. The decision tree on which one is in /learnings soon.
Browser & shortcuts
The surface area I touch every minute.
Arc
Vertical tabs + spaces is the only sane way to context-switch between client work and personal work.
Raycast
Cmd+Space replacement. Snippets, clipboard history, AI commands, custom scripts.
1Password
Self-explanatory.
Cleanshot X
Every screenshot in every brief I ever send.
Habits & subscriptions
The recurring inputs that make the outputs possible.
Lenny's Newsletter
Most consistent signal-to-noise ratio in product/growth content.
Stratechery (Ben Thompson)
When I need to think about strategy, not tactics.
Marketing Examined
Visual ad teardowns. I steal from this regularly.
Kindle
Daily · Marketing books rotate, fiction is the cool-down.
Long walks
The single highest-ROI productivity tool I use. Solves more problems than any SaaS.
Tools change. I update this page roughly once a quarter. If you think I should be using something I'm not. tell me.
